I used a friend's laptop that was running it, and it was annoying that everything that would normally take me 5 seconds to do in xp took more like 5-10 minutes. And geez, I hadn't even heard of the 2 gig minimum for ram! This is what i noticed at least. But you are right Vista is bloatware.
